This month, Bellaire Bed & Breakfast of Bellaire, Michigan is celebrating it's 10th anniversary under the ownership of David Schulz and Jim Walker. From humble beginnings in 1997, David and Jim have enthusiastically and lovingly developed a nationally recognized and award-winning bed and breakfast destination. According to David, "We started receiving national attention and recognition in 2003 for our Murder Mystery weekends from Arrington's Inn Traveler." In 2006, Arrington's again informed David and Jim that Inn-goers had voted the Bellaire Bed & Breakfast as one of the top 15 "Best Overall Bed & Breakfasts" in North America. "What makes the recognition extra special is that it comes directly as a result of our guests experience and comments to Arrington's," David notes.

In late summer of 2005, the B&B received notification it was selected as one of the top 5 Midwest bed & breakfasts for fall color touring by The American Historic Inns, Inc., a nationally recognized B&B authority that has published over 2 million bed & breakfast guides and developed the highly rated iLoveInns. com bed & breakfast website featuring over 18,000 lodging establishments. Jim states, "It's great to be recognized for the experience we provide our guests, and it really speaks well of Northern Michigan. We love introducing guests to our world class restaurants, golf courses, lakes, shorelines and most of all, the fantastic hospitality that can only be found 'Up North'."

"This year we are hitting the ground running as a result of being featured in Traverse Magazine's April issue," says David. Michigan, and Northern Michigan in particular, is known as one of the ideal travel destinations in the U. S. to kick back, relax and rediscover life. "Our guests continually tell us that we go 'above and beyond' their expectations! We've started planning our new fall and winter experiences for our guests with the goal of continuing to live up to our reputation," Jim concludes.
