In addition, attendees of the game have the opportunity to win two big lucky prizes that includes one roundtrip airfare to Taiwan courtesy of EVA Air or China Airlines and hotel accommodations at the Grand Hyatt Taipei. "We are reminded that sports can act as a tool that can bridge cultures and cross linguistic and ideological barriers. As global citizens, we are all well aware of the fact that the sports experience is priceless - to be outdoors, routing for your home team and spending time with friends and loved ones," remarked Trust Lin, the newly-appointed director of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, Los Angeles office. "Together with our partners, China Airlines and EVA Air, we're certain that Taiwan Day will be a memorable day for all."

Baseball has caught ablaze in Taiwan as it celebrates the successes its players have experienced in the United States. Southern California has historically one of the largest Taiwanese communities in the USA, and in being so, the anticipation of this notable match up has been met with feverous enthuse, in part due to the popularity of Chien-Ming Wang, a native of Taiwan, who plays for the Yankees and has recently been placed on the injured list.

The mission of the Los Angeles Taiwan Tourism Bureau is to educate, inform, and excite the public about the accessibility and ease in which to travel to Taiwan.

Known as the "Beautiful Island," Taiwan is an island nation located in East Asia. Taiwan welcomes travelers with its ultra-modern capital city of Taipei, home to both the tallest building in the world, Taipei 101. Outside of the metropolitan appeal, Taiwan's beautiful, unspoiled landscapes that reveal breathtaking coastal and mountain terrain, beach resorts, hot springs, and aboriginal local cultures, continue to touch the heart of its visitors.
