Austin, TX (PRWEB) September 28, 2010

For many years Texas Office Products & Supply (TOPS) has been the place to get both your office furniture and your dinosaur eggs (http://www. naturestreasurestx. com/) from sister business Nature's Treasures in the old Quonset hut on East 5th Street, but due to a fire Memorial Day weekend TOPS is relocating farther down East 5th Street and Nature's Treasures is taking over a 17,000 sq. ft. location at 4103 North IH-35, with a grand opening celebration October 2nd and 3rd.

The new location north of Fiesta Food Store in the Cherrywood neighborhood across from Hancock Shopping Center was most recently the site of a pawn shop and was one of the original Academy Surplus stores in Austin. Now it will be the home of the largest retail source of crystals (http://www. naturestreasurestx. com/), fossils and minerals in the Central Texas area.

The rocks at Nature's Treasures come in all sizes and colors with a wide range of prices, from those you can hold in your hand to the 6 foot quartz point crystal on display in the entry area. Also featured in the entry is a hand painted wall mural by Austin artist Neil Cronk depicting a Utopian world of crystals, dinosaurs and native people living in harmony while Planet Earth is seen in the distant sky.

In addition to the wide array of semi-precious stones including amethyst, agate, moonstone, citrine, tourmaline and turquoise, Nature's Treasures also sells quartz crystals, healing and natural minerals (http://www. naturestreasurestx. com/), beads, candle holders, crystal and stone jewelry, Himalayan salt lamps (http://www. naturestreasurestx. com/) and books on metaphysical topics. Owner Karen Richards and her staff are available to offer guidance about the healing properties and energies of specific stones.

The grand opening October 2nd and 3rd will coincide with the weekend of the 5th annual "Denver Truck Sale." Twice a year Nature's Treasure's owner Karen Richards and her staff travel to gem and mineral (http://www. naturestreasurestx. com/) shows to purchase inventory for the Nature's Treasures stores. After the purchased wholesale inventory is brought to Austin in a 35 foot truck, Nature's Treasures gives its customers an opportunity at "first pick" of the truck's contents and a one time offer to buy at reduced prices before the items are cleaned, tagged and placed in the retail store inventory.

Owner Karen Richards says, "We are thrilled that our grand opening will coincide with our annual fall truck sale. Many of our customers look forward to the truck sales and this will be a great opportunity for them to see the new store. Customers were stopping by when we didn't even have a sign up yet."

Future plans include an artificial cave with ultraviolet light to display fluorescent minerals, a realistic display of a natural crystal growth and a grouping of real dinosaur bones (http://www. naturestreasurestx. com/). A "panning for fossils" activity area for young and old alike plus community classes and tours for schools and scout programs will also be developed. An adjacent building on the site will be the future home of an expanded lapidary center. Nature's Treasures current lapidary activities are located in the back of the Kramer Street location at 2307 Kramer Lane.

About Nature's Treasures: Nature's Treasures is the source in Austin and Central Texas for jewelry, beads, stones, quartz, turquoise, crystals, gemstones, amethyst, fossils, salt and natural stone lamps, and information on metaphysical and healing properties of rocks and minerals (http://www. naturestreasurestx. com/). In addition to the new retail space at 4103 North IH-35, there are still two other locations inside Texas Office Products & Supply (TOPS) warehouses at 2307 Kramer Lane and 4300 S. IH-35 in Georgetown.
