Bucks County, PA (PRWEB) May 18, 2006

On May 1, 2006, the Pennsylvania Tourism and Lodging Association (PTLA) presented Peddler’s Village and The Inn at Bowman’s Hill with prestigious Pennsylvania Spirit of Hospitality Awards. Lynne Amery of The Inn at Bowman’s Hill was presented with the 2006 Pennsylvania Innkeeper of the Year Award, and Peddler’s Village earned the 2005 Community Service Award.

The Pennsylvania Tourism & Lodging Association presented the Pennsylvania Spirit of Hospitality Awards as a means of recognizing outstanding performance, commitment and achievements in the hospitality and tourism industry. The awards were presented during an Awards Dinner at the Association’s 2006 Lodging Conference at The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel, State College. The Bucks County Conference & Visitors Bureau attended the dinner in support of The Inn at Bowman’s Hill and Peddler’s Village.

These prestigious awards recognized outstanding qualities that set the standards for the entire industry to achieve; all entrants invested a good amount of time in developing a nomination presentation. Nominees were judged on quality and quantity of materials that substantiated the award entry. The recognition of a business, employee or manager being chosen for exemplary qualities is thought to distinguish the receiver as a leader in the Tourism industry.

The Innkeeper of the Year Award honors an innkeeper who has demonstrated professionalism in operating a B&B, country inn, or farm vacation and has taken a leadership role in the unique lodging industry by actively participating in association, community, or industry programs.

The Community Service Award is given for programs designed to provide service and demonstrate to residents that the individual property or chain is responsive to the local community. Examples include campaigns to benefit local or national service organizations or charities; service to any part of the community through a special project; and joint undertakings with community groups for the benefit of the community.

The PA Tourism & Lodging Association is the leading trade association whose mission is to promote and protect the interests of the hospitality and tourism industry in Pennsylvania. We also serve as the member state association for the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA). The PTLA was established in 1982 and is governed by a 36-member Board of Directors, consists of 11 standing committees and has more than 650 state-wide members.
