AmericaÂ’s First Theme Park Celebrates 30 Years Of Tradition

Weekends at SantaÂ’s Workshop offer old-fashioned Christmas activities

(PRWEB) November 16, 2002

NORTH POLE, NY – Santa’s Workshop Christmas Preview weekends were introduced in 1973 and have grown steadily ever since. The first year of the program, 39 families participated in the program. Today, over 600 families travel to North Pole, New York to take part in the festivities during the five weekends before Christmas, coming from as far away as Florida, Texas and Ohio.

We are delighted to continue this wonderful Christmas tradition,” noted Bob Reiss, the park’s general manager. “So many families return year after year to experience the magic of Christmas at Santa’s Workshop. Offering this program to different generations of the same family is extremely rewarding.”

Quite often it is the grandparents who bring the children, allowing parents some time to prepare for Christmas at home. According to Reiss, “The weekend immediately before Christmas is the perfect time for the Grandparents to bring the children, it would allow the parents some time to get things organized at home before the holiday.”

The Christmas Preview weekend offers an opportunity for families to not only spend a day at SantaÂ’s Workshop but also to take part in two evenings of special entertainment designed specifically for the Christmas Preview weekends.

Children and their families are able to meet with each character from SantaÂ’s Workshop, listen to stories, sing carols, and take part in a play. The package price also includes lodging and meals.

There are five venues near Santa’s Workshop where the events take place each evening. Approximately 25 families attend the “trim-the-tree” party and the “T’was the Night Before Christmas” party at each location. These events offer magic shows, caroling, visits from the characters from Santa’s Workshop and a visit from Santa Claus. The interaction between children, their families and Santa is what makes the program unique.

The Christmas Preview weekends at SantaÂ’s Workshop are held from November 23rd through December 21st.

SantaÂ’s Workshop is located on the Whiteface Mountain Memorial Highway, 12 miles from Lake Placid. For more information call 1-800-806-0215 or visit www. NorthPoleNewYork. com.
