The turn of the century was a peak period of immigration in the history of the United States. Millions of Americans can trace to the ports of New York, Boston, Philadelphia and Wilmington the origins of their families in America. Vessels sailing for the Red Star, White Star, Cunard, Holland-America Line and others, made steady transatlantic voyages, the ship's steerage overflowing with thousands of hopeful newcomers who were yearning for a better life. This database has over 2,000 listings, with specific information about many of the ships, the passenger lines, and now includes links to purchase prints of these grand vessels available through a partnership with a unique service called KinShips (www.
