Easton, MD (PRWEB) March 23, 2010

Eastern Shore Vacation Rentals (http://www. easternshorevacations. com/), a leading provider of professionally managed vacation homes on Maryland’s Eastern Shore is proud to announce a cooperative project with their local Habitat For Humanity affiliate – Habitat Choptank (http://www. habitatchoptank. org/)– that will encourage vacationers to exchange volunteer time during their vacation in exchange for free vacation days.

Travelers who vacation with Eastern Shore Vacation Rentals between September 15, 2010 and May 15, 2011 or before May 15, 2010 are eligible to get the days they volunteer with Habitat Choptank for free. The offer is good for one free day for every three days of stay at select vacation rental homes. At least half the vacationing adults must volunteer. A full day of volunteering is from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. More information on this initiative can be found at: http://www. easternshorevacations. com/volunteer-vacations. html (http://www. easternshorevacations. com/volunteer-vacations. html).

“Voluntourism has become a hot trend in travel industry and ESVR is so pleased to be able to offer something that gives back to our community,” stated ESVR co-owner, Debbie Lipscomb. “The Eastern Shore has the reputation of being a wealthy upscale community and it is often overlooked that we have families in need right here in our own backyard. ESVR guests are very invested in this area and the response to this program so far has been tremendous.”

“We are grateful to Eastern Shore Vacation Rentals for this offer to help bring new volunteers onto our construction sites,” said Susan Devlin, executive director of Habitat for Humanity Choptank. “In addition to bringing tourism into our area, visitors will be sharing their time and energy with Habitat to help improve local neighborhoods and support local working families in becoming home owners.”
