Despite the onslaught of new restrictions forced on the credit card industry in 2010 as a result of the CARD Act, the industry survived and consumers are benefitting from a slew of great new offers. Credit card industry expert Curtis Arnold identifies the shining stars of 2010, and previews what lies ahead for 2011.

Today, CardRatings. com released Part 1 of its annual Editor’s Choice Awards for Best Credit Cards of 2011 giving a nod to this year’s winners in the following categories:

“The credit card industry has been on a roller-coaster ride in 2010”, according to Curtis Arnold, Founder of CardRatings. com. “The first of the year was filled with doom and gloom and there was a lot of talk about higher rates and fewer perks.” Interestingly, as the year progressed and credit card offers began reappearing in consumer mailboxes, so have attractive new reward and incentive programs.
