Tucson's O'Malley Gets a Leg Up on Her music Career
Denny's waitress discovered by Danny Miller to be produced by Legends Hall Of Fame member Robert Metzgar in Nashville.
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) August 4, 2005
Kitty OÂMalley is going to Nashville to record a blues album with Legends Hall Of Fame producer Robert Metzgar. The Hall Of Fame producer is a leader in finding new talent and developing artists for major labels in many genres. O'Malley currently works as a waitress at a Denny's Restaurant in Tucson, Arizona.
OÂMalley who was born in Anaheim, California and raised in Northern California graduated from El Dorado High School in Placerville, California. She worked as a waitress and drove a truck until she got her recent break through Danny D & Jacque Miller at Scarecrow Records, AZ LLC in Green Valley, AZ. OÂMalley attended business school in Sacramento, California and comes from a family with seven brothers and sisters. She is one of many talented vocalists in her family and is the middle child.
Entertainment Headline News editor Mikel Gore interviewed OÂMalley recently and OÂMalleyÂs earliest influences are Tanya Tucker, Patsy Cline and Crystal Gayle. Throughout the years that she was a trucker on the road, every time OÂMalley saw a karaoke venue, she would pull over and park the truck and spend time singing. Obviously her love of Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald and Trisha Yearwood helped propel her into the spotlight as a performer and vocalist. Those years of practice and work have allowed her to develop into the artist she is today.
When asked what her favorite type of music was, she was quick to say that black gospel music has influenced her life for many years. OÂMalley gave her first public concert in Colona, California at age 20 and got up and sang ÂDreams, from an old Fleetwood Mac album. When asked how long she had been singing, OÂMalley said, ÂFrom the time my lips could move. Attending the First Assembly Of God church in Placerville, Ms. OÂMalley listened to her mother sing gospel music growing up in California. ÂIÂd rather be on stage than anything else in the world. The long distance hauler carried her karaoke equipment with her in the truck for many years and had over 1000 songs to choose from on the road while traveling from one State to another. ÂSinging was my entertainment on the road, and she has vowed to sing in every place that will let her sing so that she can get known to people throughout the Southwestern United States. ÂI sing the blues because itÂs a healing for the soul, she said. ÂThe blues lift your spirit when youÂve had a bad day. After a long day, all you have to do is sing one song and that one song will change the way you feel.Â
OÂMalley starts her new album in Nashville on October 23rd. While the average blues album today costs well in excess of $150,000 at a label in Music City, the beautiful blues singer who is reminiscent of Aretha Franklin or Celinda Pink has found a label home and a studio that believes in her talent. SheÂs struck by the influences of Faith Hill and how committed she is to her family. ÂI admire her not only as a woman, artist and professional, but sheÂs a wife and homemaker as well. Singing is a passion for me, OÂMalley said in an interview for her biography piece. ÂI know in my heart that IÂm supposed to sing and be doing what IÂm doing in the music business. I sing from my heart with my emotions and my feelings all wound up inside my songs. ThatÂs the music inside me that makes me what I am as a solo artist. Growing up, I accompanied many others in their quest as solo artists. Now, IÂm that artist. See www. platinumplusuniversal. com
OÂMalley has an extended family in Jacque and Danny D Miller of Scarecrow Records, AZ LLC located in Green Valley, AZ. Danny D Miller will Produce the O'Malley album with legendary hit maker Metzgar at Chelsea Studios in Nashville. It was Jacque and Danny D Miller that discovered OÂMalley in a club in Green Valley, AZ and sent her demo tape to Nashville for review. OÂMalley has been referred to as a blues singer with a big kiss of country in her voice. Male artists that had an influence on her music are Merle Haggard and Garth Brooks. But her favorite person of all times is her father who used to listen strictly to classical music but came to hear Kitty sing and was very supportive of her career. OÂMalley says that she hopes her father is still listening and will be her guardian angel watching over her in the future.
Her Producer Danny D Miller and surrounding entourage of people who have assisted her on her future project is like a list of ÂWhoÂs Who In The Music Business. Platinum Plus Universal is one of the largest development labels in the world and also boasts some of the most successful artists in the pop, gospel, blues and country music business. ÂOÂMalley has everything you look for in a commercial presentation of music. She has humility, beauty, a wonderful family and a commercial voice to die for, says Danny D Miller. Her next sessions this year in Nashville will be indexed against a tough economy, a war on terrorism and the uncertain future. However, in a world that seems so uncertain, there is one thing you can count on. You can count on Kitty OÂMalley to deliver an album to market that will be as solid as a rock. She has hit material written all over everything she does in the music business.
