MovieTrips. com Presents First eGuide For Movie and Media Induced Tourism
(PRWEB) October 20, 2000
The first Web
Travelpublishing site that focuses only on making the film location/leisure travel destination connection has been launched by MovieTrips Incorporated.
Using the umbrella of their FILM LOCATION TRAVEL NETWORK, the firm intends to capitalize on the emerging movie and media induced tourism activity surrounding the growing global trend of film location shoots being done outside of the production studio back lots.
The present Preview site demonstrates that the real pay-off for the local municipalities that are attracting the movie, television, commercial or other productions, can really come with the tourism dollars after the cast and crew have left town. The web site presents new promotional and advertising opportunities as a consumer direct channel for both the destination and the production company.
The first edition of the EGuide presents four feature stories. Included are the global box office leader from Paramount Pictures, Mission: Impossible-2; Columbia Tri-Star's revolutionary war tribute, The Patriot; and Warner Bros. adventure epic, The Perfect Storm. The movie to receive seven Academy Award nominations for 1999, Miramax Film's The Cider House Rules, has a first installment on a New England trek that "crosses the trails of Kipling and King, with a brief detour to New Jersey".
A "Mystery Movie Location" quiz test visitors knowledge of recent releases.
The Preview site delivers on the travel publishing aspect of the firm's business model, and alludes to the destination marketing program that will be presented in late 4Q, in the form of the Film Location Travel (FLT) Network Directory.
