This third edition comes with updated information about accessible and/or adapted tourist attractions in Spain. It covers every and all autonomous regions, including Canary and Balearic Islands. Attractions are organized in cultural, natural, transport and accommodation. Useful tips on Spain and other practical information are both in Englsih and Spanish.

We consider leisure enjoyment as part of the whole human experience, a basic element in the physical, psychological and social development and wellbeing of the individual. Leisure, moreover, has become a key factor on the way towards the full integration of disabled persons.

Many people with mobility difficulties and/or communication impairments are eager to travel: from that point of view they are not different from those without disabilities.

This Guide provides information and contact data which help travellers with special needs planning their own tourism activities and/or trip to Spain: tourism related addresses, disability related addresses, cultural and nature tourist attractions (including accessible beaches, natural parks, etc..)transport info(eurotaxis, accessible and adapted tourist trains and boats) , venues, lodging and accommodation (hotels, resorts and rural cottages)all over Spain.

The Guide covers every and all autonomous Spanish regions one by one. There is practical information about Spain (taxes refund, health, business hours, electricity, etc.) and tips for professionals serving patrons with special needs both in English and Spanish.

The tourist industry in Spain is one of the most important pillars of its economy, and they have, no doubt, got the message: the supply of accessible leisure resources is increasing day by day. We have checked it and can thus confirm: accommodation, restaurants, natural parks, other nature areas and tourist attractions are being designed and managed more and more with criteria of accessibility so that everyone can use and enjoy them.

We, the Polibea Turismo team, hope we have done a bit of work which is a useful tool and source of information for the disabled community and empowers the progress towards accessible tourism, tourism for all, universal tourism: finally, HIGH QUALITY TOURISM.
