Nationwide logistics provider, Bedfords Transport has announced that it has adopted Brake as its corporate charity.

The road safety charity campaigns and fundraises to stop deaths on the roads, cut emissions and care for the victims of road crashes. Bedfords recently launched its own children’s road safety scheme, Beddy, which received backing from Brake. As a result Bedfords is now actively fundraising and supporting the charity.

Beddy is aimed at 5-7 year olds and centres around an interactive website – www. beddy. co. uk. Children can play educational games, puzzles and follow Beddy as he travels about the country. Parents and teachers can also get involved with downloadable lesson plans and worksheets all of which help to reinforce the message of safety on the roads.

Steff Pfadenhauer, Managing Director at Bedfords said: “The staff here at Bedfords have always been very generous in giving their time and energy to fundraising for various different schemes and charities. We’ve decided to consolidate everyone’s efforts and work together to raise money for Brake.

"As the operator of a sizeable fleet of large vehicles safety is of paramount importance to us. This was apparent to Brake when we told them about the Beddy scheme. We’re proud to be a supporter of the charity and watch this space for updates on how we’ll be raising funds!”
