TokyoTopia Holds Contest for Best Video Showcasing "Great Times in Tokyo"
Over 80,000 JPY worth in prizes for videos that reveal the best places, events, and tips for traveling around Tokyo.
Tokyo, Japan (PRWEB) April 29, 2009
Tourists and residents of Tokyo alike have a chance to win prizes from TokyoTopia's sponsors in the TokyoTopia Video Competition. From April 10 - July 31, 2009, this new website devoted to sharing tips with Tokyo's visitors is offering prizes to the creators of the best 6 videos submitted. Videos may be entered in any of 6 categories -- sightseeing, festivals, shopping, travel, food, and traveling with kids -- and should be 5 minutes or less.
"I'm looking for short videos that show my readers' own experiences of Tokyo," said Honor Dargan, owner of TokyoTopia. "This competition is about sharing original stories that travelers don't know about yet, so it's worthwhile to look over the submissions that have already been entered on TokyoTopia. com to help determine what's already been done."
Prizes include vouchers to attend HIS Experience tours free of charge, prominent placement on the TokyoTopia home page and in the Indie Travel Podcast (2009 winner of Lonely Planet best podcast award), magazine subscriptions (for inhabitants of Japan), iPhone downloads, and more. For travelers who have been to Tokyo in the past and locals who like exploring the mystery and excitement of their hometown, TokyoTopia's Video Competition is a chance to share the stories of the Tokyo that they know.
"Part of why I love Tokyo is that it's a city of contrasts," said Honor, "Old and new, modern and traditional, secular and religious; show me what you love about this city and enter TokyoTopia's Video Competition."
