Blue Ridge Wine Festival Announces 2006 dates

BLOWING ROCK, N. C. (PRWEB) August 12, 2005

Today, the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce announced the dates and schedules for the 2006 Blue Ridge Wine Festival. Slated for April 6-8, the 2006 Festival will incorporate activities throughout the weekend showcasing wines influenced by the Blue Ridge Mountains, local and national celebrity chefs, and food and wine dinners at Blowing RockÂ’s own highly rated restaurants.

Additionally, a schedule of educational events related to wine pairings, cooking classes and tasting tips has been organized to provide guests with a complete wine experience. Commercial and amateur winemakers will be competing for medals awarded by a professional panel of judges.

According to Charles Hardin, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, this yearÂ’s festival will highlight the unique style of wines produced along one of the oldest mountain chains in the world.

“Blowing Rock has been known for its mountain beauty for centuries, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors traveling along the Blue Ridge Parkway,” adds Hardin. “However, many visitors don’t know about the world class wines that are influenced by our unique terrain. This region is known world wide for its unspoiled beauty and we are really looking forward to introducing people from around the world to one more aspect of what makes our area unlike any other.”
