First Full-Service Hotel in Arizona To Offer FREE High-Speed Internet in Every Guestroom

PHOENIX, AZ (PRWEB) August 9, 2003

One of the premier convention hotels in the southwest, the Wyndham Phoenix, recently completed installation of new high-speed Internet access in all guestrooms, common areas and more than 60,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. To commemorate the new technology, the Wyndham Phoenix is the first hotel in Arizona to offer this service free to all hotel guests via complimentary guestroom connections. To initiate the Internet service, users simply plug their computer into the data connection in the hotel room and launch a Web browser.

“One of our guests’ top priorities while traveling is to stay connected to their offices and homes,” said Bryan Goodman, director of sales and marketing for the hotel. “As part of our continuing commitment to exceed guests’ expectations, we are pleased to offer this easy-to-use service which allows guests access to a secure, high-speed network in the comfort of their hotel room. We expect the new service to also increase overall customer satisfaction. The fact that we can offer this service free sets us apart from other hotels.”

Increasingly in today's business environment, mobile professionals require secure, reliable, broadband access to Internet services. In an October 2002 American Express survey of business travelers, 71% reported they access the Web or check email daily while away from the office. In response to this demand the hotel opted to deliver best of breed services through a Cisco® network solution.

Infrastructure supplied by Cisco Systems provides100 Mbps Internet access via Category 5 cable, offering secure Internet connectivity at speeds up to 50 times faster than dial-up. The network features Cisco switches, routers, security and network provisioning equipment. Once users are connected, the Cisco Building Broadband Service Manager (BBSM), a public access gateway, automatically forwards users to the Wyndham Phoenix portal.

In addition to offering High-Speed Internet Access in guestrooms, The Wyndham Phoenix is one of the leading hotels in the country for organizations that require advanced technological capabilities. The hotel’s capabilities include: high-speed internet access in all meeting and function areas built on a Cisco® powered IP backbone, capability to deliver scalable services up to the OC-12 level, network encryption and authentication to increase privacy and minimize the potential for fraud, network infrastructure providing symmetrical bandwidth upstream and downstream, supplying customers with constant committed bandwidths not degraded even during peak periods of traffic volume.

The Wyndham Phoenix is a 19-story high-rise hotel conveniently located at 50 East Adams Street in downtown Phoenix and only a short walk to Phoenix Civic Plaza Convention Center, America West Arena, Bank One Ballpark, Dodge Theatre, Phoenix City Hall, and numerous banking and government offices. Every guestroom features WyndhamÂ’s Room That PerformsSM guest room experience program which provides high-speed Internet access; a two-line cordless speaker phone; a high-performance, ergonomic Herman Miller® desk chair; and upgraded Serta® plush top mattresses with luxury bedding. The property features more than 60,000 sq. ft. of function space, two restaurants, outdoor pool, fitness center, full-service salon and gift shop.

James and Domenic Emiliani to be Awarded the Trinacria D'Oro 2007

Prominent Sicilian Entrepreneurs Brothers Recognized by the Federazione Siciliana del New Jersey

Lodi, NJ (PRWEB) March 5, 2007

The Federazione Siciliana del New Jersey, is pleased to announce its Ninth Annual Dinner Dance honoring two outstanding Italian Americans: James and Domenic Emiliani, 2007 Men of the Year. The event will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at The Venetian, 546 River Drive, Garfield (NJ). Cocktail begins at 4:00 P. M., followed by dinner and dancing featuring entertainment by 7.4.7's.

The Emiliani Brothers will be awarded the prestigious Trinacria d'Oro, a high recognition given to Sicilians with who have made significant entrepreneurial, social, humanitarian and philanthropic contributions.

The story of the Emiliani brothers is both exciting and inspiring, and captures the true essence of the "American Dream" common to many Italians and immigrants who left their lands for the United States with hopes and dreams of a better life.

Leaving native Montelepre (province of Palermo) in 1951, James Emiliani started a part time business in barber supplies and after only one year, he saw an opportunity in the beauty supply business. In 1962 he opened the first Emiliani Beauty Supply Store in Irvington, New Jersey. He sent for his brothers Sal, Domenic, and Roi who were still in Sicily, to join the successful business.

Jimmy has established two annual scholarships (in his father's name) one for children in his native Montelepre and one in the United States. He is an active member of many social clubs and institutions like UNICO, Ieri, Oggi e Domani, Board of Directors of Columbus Hospital Foundation, Italian American Heritage Commission and a member of the Board of Advisors for American - Union Bank. Jimmy has also received numerous awards from various organizations, including the National Spirit of Life Award by City of Hope in 2002. Jimmy and his wife Mary, married for 56 years, have three married children and ten grandchildren.

Domenic Emiliani immigrated to the USA after marring his wife Enza in 1962, working at first as a welder/ironworker and soon joining his brother Jimmy selling barber and beauty supplies. In 1970, Domenic was directing Roma Beauty Supply (Emiliani Branch II) in Highland Park (NJ), which expanded Emiliani Enterprises' territory in central and southern NJ, in addition to the company's presence in Manhattan, the Bronx and Brooklyn. Shortly afterwards, Emiliani Enterprises went on to become a major wholesaler in the salon industry. Through these many years, their business has grown and it expanded its services throughout the state of New Jersey, the five boroughs of New York, Connecticut and parts of Eastern Pennsylvania. Domenic, like his older brother, is always ready to support any activity in Italian culture and philanthropy.

He enjoys spending time with his three daughters' families and 7 grandchildren! Emiliani Enterprises, built on family values, integrity, and loyalty, today has over 90 professional consultants serving 10,000 customers, 13 store locations, a main distribution center in Union and over 300 employees. Emiliani Enterprises also supports many charitable organizations such as Feed the Children, Make a Wish Foundation, Lupus Foundation, the Alzheimer's Research Foundations, Deborah Hospital, Special Olympics, Mothers Against Drunk Driving among many others. In 2004, the Emiliani Family donated a large monument to his hometown of Montelepre as a reminder of all the immigrants that left Italy after World Was II. Giacomo and Domenico Emiliani are testimonials of dreams coming true in the "land of opportunities."

Almost 2 million residents of New Jersey are of Italian descent, and many of them have their origins in Sicily. "Our Gala is a special occasion to gather together and celebrate the leaders of our Italian-American community and to celebrate Sicilian heritage," said Giuseppe Randazzo, Esq., president of the Federazione.

The Federazione Siciliana del New Jersey is a non-profit organization founded in 1996 by M. Cangialosi, S. Chianetta, C. Spinella, J. Puccio, E. De Luca, G. Mineo and E. Monte. It is comprised of several associations of Sicilian heritage with approximately 2000 members. The Federazione seeks to forge a closer relationship between Sicily and New Jersey by promoting cultural and social activities, as well as travel. It also recognizes the contributions of outstanding individuals of Sicilian heritage.
