Confused. com Chooses Home & Capital as Exclusive Partner

Confused. com Chooses Home & Capital as Exclusive Partner

Confused. com chooses Home & Capital as exclusive partner.

Cardiff, UK (PRWEB) April 8, 2010

Car insurance and energy comparison (http://www. confused. com/gas-electricity) specialist Confused. com has reached an agreement with equity release adviser Home & Capital to become the price comparison website's exclusive partner for equity release.

Visitors to Confused. com looking for information on equity release will be able to click through to a microsite operated by Home & Capital Advisers. This will enable them to gain information about equity release and some of the lenders in the market, before speaking to an impartial adviser about equity release products available.

Paul Chohan, Head of Mortgages (http://www. confused. com/mortgages) and Life Assurance at Confused. com said: "This is an important development for Confused. com as we extend the range of products and services available on our website. We know that the internet is becoming increasingly popular for accessing information and researching financial products for a wide selection of people, including the more mature audiences. We wanted to increase our offering in terms of retirement planning, and it made total sense to partner exclusively with Home & Capital who have an outstanding reputation in the industry.

"We are delighted to be the first aggregator to offer this service proving once again that it pays to be Confused. com."

Simon Little, Director of Home & Capital Advisers, said: "I'm delighted with this ground-breaking deal, which significantly strengthens our online presence. As people in and approaching retirement are increasingly accustomed to using online channels for market research on financial products, it is logical that information about how to release equity is available in this way. This new offering will open up a dialogue with many people who could benefit from equity release advice, and who will value the opportunity to discuss alternatives which are available.

"This is good news for Home & Capital, good news for Confused. com and good news for the consumer - particularly at a time when retirement planning is becoming more important as the state pension and occupational pension schemes are increasingly failing to deliver."

Taiwan Tourism Bureau Kicks Off National Smiles Week; Teams Up With Autism Speaks at Angel Stadium

Children with autism and their families will join Autism Speaks among the special guests of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau at the Taiwan Day festivities held at Angel Stadium on Saturday, August 9. The game will mark the beginning of National Smiles Week and the Taiwan Tourism Bureau plans on sharing smiles with the thousands who attend this highly anticipated event.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 9, 2008

The first pitch of the game will be thrown out by Director General Chung-Chen Kung of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles. In addition, attendees of the game have the opportunity to win two big lucky prizes that includes one roundtrip airfare to Taiwan courtesy of EVA Air or China Airlines and hotel accommodations at the Grand Hyatt Taipei. Footage of hot tourist spots in Taiwan will be played on the JumboTron and everyone in attendance will receive goodies courtesy of Taiwan Tourism Bureau.

"We are reminded that sports can act as a tool that can bridge cultures and cross linguistic and ideological barriers. As global citizens, we are all well aware of the fact that the sports experience is priceless - to be outdoors, routing for your home team and spending time with friends and loved ones," remarked Trust Lin, the newly-appointed director of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, Los Angeles office. "Together with our partners, China Airlines and EVA Air, we're certain that Taiwan Day will be a memorable day for all."

Baseball has caught ablaze in Taiwan as it celebrates the successes its players have experienced in the United States. Southern California has historically one of the largest Taiwanese communities in the USA, and in being so, the anticipation of this notable match up has been met with feverous enthuse, in part due to the popularity of Chien-Ming Wang, a native of Taiwan, who plays for the Yankees and has recently been placed on the injured list.

The mission of the Los Angeles Taiwan Tourism Bureau is to educate, inform, and excite the public about the accessibility and ease in which to travel to Taiwan.

Known as the "Beautiful Island," Taiwan is an island nation located in East Asia. Taiwan welcomes travelers with its ultra-modern capital city of Taipei, home to both the tallest building in the world, Taipei 101. Outside of the metropolitan appeal, Taiwan's beautiful, unspoiled landscapes that reveal breathtaking coastal and mountain terrain, beach resorts, hot springs, and aboriginal local cultures, continue to touch the heart of its visitors.

Portland, OR (PRWEB) January 24, 2011

FlightStats, a leading flight tracking and airport information service provided by Conducive Technology Corp., today announced the airlines that are winners in the FlightStats 2010 On-time Performance Service (OPS) Awards. The OPS awards recognize airlines around the world that deliver the highest percentage of flights to their arrival gates within 15 minutes of the scheduled arrival time.

“Every year, the FlightStats OPS Awards answers the question of which airlines are the best at getting passengers to their destinations on time. We are once again very proud to single out those airlines that consistently offer the very best service to air travelers around the world,” said Jeff Kennedy, Conducive Technology Corp’s CEO.

To determine the winners, FlightStats analyzed 2010 flight arrival performance data collected from a global network of sources including civil aviation authorities, airlines, airports, and major airline reservation systems. Finalists in seven categories were announced January 13. For more details on categories and on the analysis, go to http://opsawards. flightstats. com

Good News for Boomer Social Network: TeeBeeDee Continues Record Growth

Good News for Boomer Social Network: TeeBeeDee Continues Record Growth

Online Boomer Social Network TeeBeeDee has continued growing month after month and reaches 100K members before the end of the year.

San Francisco, Calif. (PRWEB) December 23, 2008

TeeBeeDee (www. tbd. com), a social network for adults 40+ who believe life is still to be determined, offers insights and advice directly from TeeBeeDee members. As consumers tighten belt buckles, Boomers looking for free entertainment are flocking to established social networks like TeeBeeDee. Since the spring, the company has seen continued 20% growth month after month. And in December, the company reached an important milestone: 100,000 members.

In a recent discussion, Boomers shared what TBD means to them (http://www. tbd. com/group/50/discussion/909325/show) -- and the answers ranged from serious to hilarious:

"TBD has given me the opportunity to realize that there are a lot of people like me who struggle every day with issues big and small. It brings out the compassion in me, makes me humble when I should be, and lifts me up when I need it. I lost what friends I had in my divorce, so the chance to interact with my own peer group, however superficial, means a lot to me. I have found people here who I wish I could chat with over coffee, or go out and have a drink or two. It's been a long time since I felt that way..."

"TBD is the 'friend store'. You go in and shop around... play with all the friends... pick out some special ones you like the best... you don't even have to go through the checkout line."

"A wonderful place to just be me. And the freedom to say what I feel and think with adults my age and not teenagers or kids."

"I've been blown away by the range of topics here, and the eloquence and dare I say 'authenticity' and heartfelt writing. TBD has exceeded my expectations."

"Mostly I like the fact that if something comes up in my life TBD is a great place to get that 3rd opinion. So in all TBD has been a positive place for me... I'm so glad I found you TBD"

"TBD to me is Facebook without all the incredibly annoying applications, and the equally annoying teenagers."

Although TeeBeeDee now has more traffic than any other boomer-specific network (according to QuantCast), founder Robin Wolaner points to a larger trend: "We know Facebook is growing in this demographic too. It makes sense that in a time of economic stress, people gravitate to the free entertainment and support provided by social networks." She adds, "Of course, we love hearing from our members on why they prefer TBD: 'Even though Facebook is more "adult" than MySpace, I still feel rather like an old fossil there. Sure, diversity is nice, but sometimes I'd rather talk to people from my own general age group... and yet, I'm not quite AARP age.'"

TeeBeeDee is a leading destination for the Boomer generation, typically described as adults between 44 and 64 years old. Boomers represent over 77 million people in the U. S. and are one of the fastest growing segments online. Boomers are embracing social networks like TeeBeeDee in greater numbers because they can meet new friends and learn from people with similar life experiences. At TeeBeeDee, Boomers come together to share and discuss their passions across a wide variety of topics, such as pets, cooking, travel, family, and genealogy. It is also the place where Boomers ask questions and receive advice on careers, finance, family, health, relationships, sex over 40, friendships, and much more.

About TeeBeeDee
TeeBeeDee is a social network for people 40+ who know that life is still To Be Determined. TeeBeeDee is the place where people who have lived a little meet to re-invigorate their lives with new friendships and make the most of life's "second half." TeeBeeDee's social networking platform includes groups, discussions, private messaging, Q&A, profiles, quizzes, polls, alerts, tags, photos, and original editorial content. TLC Features Oklahoma Lottery Winners Giving Back

TLC Features Oklahoma Lottery Winners Giving Back

Couple Creates DJH Foundation, Partners with OU on Mobile Childhood Diabetes Unit

Oklahoma City, OK (PRWEB) September 4, 2009

Powerball Lottery winners Don and Joyce Harvey of eastern Oklahoma will soon be featured on national television for turning part of their winnings into a charitable organization designed to research cures for Oklahoma children. The couple won the $105 million jackpot two years ago and will be highlighted in The Learning Channel's series "Lottery Changed My Life" on Wednesday, September 9th.

After winning the lottery, the Harveys formed the DJH Foundation (http://djhfoundation. org/) and began working with the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (http://www. ouphysicians. com/) to establish a program that will provide mobile research capabilities throughout the state. The program, which is part of the research at the Harold Hamm Oklahoma Diabetes Center, will include the purchase of a mobile metabolic research unit. The mobile unit will travel the state to conduct clinical research studies that will examine the root causes of obesity and diabetes in children. Such data will be used to develop preventive strategies for children in rural areas.

"The Harveys are very familiar with how difficult it is to include children in rural areas in medical research projects. And because Joyce is Cherokee she is also very familiar with how many Native American children living in rural Oklahoma are impacted by this disease. So they have a passion for this research and for making a difference in the lives of children in rural Oklahoma," said DJH Foundation Board Member and Spokesperson David Walls.

Officials at OU say their research on diabetes in Oklahoma is impacted by the fact that it is difficult to test children in rural areas who may be suffering or at risk for the disease. The mobile unit will be equipped and staffed to collect samples to expand the population included in their research.

The Harveys said they were reluctant to be featured on the TLC show until they learned it would raise awareness to the DJH Foundation and possibly help raise money for this and other projects to help Oklahomans.

"Once we learned we could focus on the Foundation we created and our plans to raise more money for the mobile metabolic unit and other projects, we agreed to let the film crews follow us around for a few days," said Don Harvey. "The crew was very nice, and we were happy to talk about the Foundation, but we were also glad to see them go."

The TLC series chronicles the lives of jackpot winners from around the country, exploring how ordinary people's lives are impacted by winning the lottery. The couple bought the ticket in June 2007 at a Shell Station on Interstate 40 in Roland, near the Arkansas state line. Don, a truck driver, learned of his new fortune one day after his 1989 Freightliner broke down.

Now the couple says their plan is to continue enjoying time with family and working on this foundation project as well as others that will benefit their fellow Oklahomans.

For more information on DJH Foundation visit www. djhfoundation. org.
